Some people say “I’d never confess to a crime I did not commit”. Well it happens every single day. People have spent decades in prison based upon false confessions. People confess out of confusion, fear, exhaustion, frustration or even to protect someone else. People confess even after the have been given their rights. A confession isn’t always reliable or true.

We can help you even if you’ve confessed. Confessing to a crime or child abuse doesn’t mean you have to give up.

If you are contacted or visited by the police you are not required to say a thing. Even if the police just want to talk to “clear up a few things” or “help them understand”. You have the constitutional right to counsel. Very politely tell the police that you need to talk to your lawyer before you say or do anything. Even if they tell you talking to them will help you, simply tell them you want counsel. You want your lawyer. A good experienced lawyer can tell you when it is in your best interest to speak with the police. The police, “the People” will always have a lawyer so should you.

If you’re arrested immediately ask for your lawyer. You are doing nothing wrong. IT IS your Constitutional Right. The People will have a lawyer. Tell the police “I want a lawyer” Do not talk or give a statement without talking to your attorney. Do Not Sign Anything without talking to your lawyer. Call us immediately if you are arrested in Kingston, Ulster County, Dutchess County, Greene County or Columbia County.
